| Description | Many children and elderly are suffering from respiratory and gastrointestinal tract infections. These mucosal tissues are vulnerable for infections and hence better local protection would be very helpful. To investigate on how to improve mucosal immunity the immunomodulatory property of dietary components and specifically of milk components is studied. Besides infections, many children suffer from allergies. In this group the immunological mechanisms of allergies are studied in relation to mucosal barriers. |
| Used skills | cell isolation and stimulation, flow cytometry, trained immunity, allergen-complexes formation, ELISA, Western Blot, Cytometric Bead Arrays |
