| Description | Farm animals like chickens, pigs and cows face numerous infections, but we still don't fully understand how their immune systems work. To improve this, we need to study the immune cells in these species. This requires specific assays, that are not commercially available. Developing and validating these cell based assays is an important part of our work. Moreover, we use these assays to measure immune responses in healthy and infected animals, and find new ways to boost their immune systems through methods like feeding or vaccination. |
| Used skills | Cell culture, cell isolation and stimulation, flow cytometry, qPCR, ELISA |
