Description | Deliflor Chrysanten breeds and propagates chrysanthemum varieties. Chrysanthemum growers have more and more problems with phloem feeding insect pests. Since insecticides have adverse effects on the environment and are being restricted, alternative solutions, such as natural host plant resistance, are needed. In this internship you will setup your own aphid rearing and develop protocols to test Chrysanthemum plants for natural host plant resistance to green peach aphids. You will perform these experiments and identify new cultivars with sources for aphid resistance that can be used for breeding programmes. |
