Description | Flood events differ according to their generating processes, e.g. heavy rainfall, snowmelt or long-duration rainfall. These processes and their interaction with the catchment state are visible in the corresponding flood hydrograph. In this thesis, flood events are separated and classified according to the flood hydrograph. The results are then compared according to the initial conditions of the catchment and the atmospheric boundary conditions. The aim is to be able to explain and predict flood types in the Netherlands. The results are interpreted in space and time. |
