Description MSc project: Pollination-Network Analyses in a Hawk-Month community in the Neotropics
In this project, students will investigate the relationship between the several species of Hawk-moths and the community of plants that they pollinate. Hawk moths have unique pollination behaviours and several intriguing questions in behavioural ecology, physiology, and evolutionary biology remain to be answered. In this project, students will be in the field capturing the moths, identifying them, analyzing the pollen structure, and identifying the plant community. The goal is to build a pollination network to better understand how those species interact. The fieldwork takes place in Florestal, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Supervisors: Alexander Haverkamp (ENT - WUR), Filipe Cunha (BHE-WUR), and Lessando Gontijo (UFV – MG). Contact filipe.cunha@wur.nl
