Description Moths are some of the most biodiverse insects groups there are, and frequent visitors of gardens in urban environments. But what is driving their numbers and biodiversity in urban environments? With this project, you will investigate some of the drivers of moth abundances and biodiversity in gardens, including the greenness of gardens, the greenness of the wider neighbourhood and/or the intensity of artificial light (e.g. street lights). With this project you will help design a field study, carry out fieldwork and identify moths, as well as analyse your data to find out what the main drivers of moth biodiversity in urban environments are.
