| Description | Project and thesis description
In 2010, the COLON study started recruiting participants. It is an ongoing prospective cohort study among colorectal cancer patients. We have included approximately 2300 patients. The aim of the COLON study is to investigate whether diet, dietary supplement use and lifestyle are associated with progression and survival of colorectal cancer. Participants are asked to fill out several questionnaires and to donate a blood sample right after diagnosis, after 6 months, after 2 years and after 5 years. We use a general questionnaire, including questions on medication use, a food-frequency questionnaire, a questionnaire on supplement use and a questionnaire about quality of life. More information about the COLON-study can be found at: www.voedingenkankerstudies.nl (website available in Dutch and English). The exact research question or topic of the thesis depends on current research within the COLON project and on the interest of the student. In all theses, the student will be involved in the data collection of the COLON study. |
