Description We are looking for a student who wants to contribute to knowledge collection for the management of the lobster fisheries in the Oosterschelde. You participate in the development of a computer vision system to automatically collect biological data about the lobster catch. To collect these data you will board lobster boats several times a week, take photos and note the length and sex of the lobster. You then help annotate the photos in the office in order to train a computer model to recognize these characteristics (machine learning). With the research you contribute to the development of a method to map the development of the lobster stock. This information is essential for sustainable fisheries management.
