Description | One element of urbanization is providing wild animals with supplemental food. Feeding ducks is a prime example and happens on a massive scale. What consequences does this extra influx of resources have on animal behaviour. Do waterbirds become more aggressive and less social now they have a valuable location to defend and are less dependent on each other to find food in the winter? We would like to study this question in coots in the Netherlands. This will be a collaborative project between the WUR and the NIOO-KNAW. |
