Within Resilience BV we have developed a design manual for small scale gravity irrigation systems in Uganda. Now you have the opportunity to transform this manual for the Mozambican context. Research/internship objectives The objective of this assignment is to transform the design manual for the Mozambican context. It is a hands-on manual based on the farmer led agricultural development principles. The manual takes the user step by step, focusing on participatory design. The assignment includes a revision and integration of the climate, the local market, farmer’s practices, land allocation. You will also include the design steps of an irrigation system for rice production. The internship allows you to dive into the environmental, social, economic and institutional reality of Mozambique. It also improves your technical understanding of irrigation design. In addition, you will be working with an international team with strong field experience.
