Description Digital soil mapping depends on the statistical relationships between soil measurements and environmental covariates at the sample locations. Whenever an error is present in these locations, a discrepancy between the measurement and the spatially referenced covariates will occur, leading to error in the statistical relationship. Positional data are only an estimate of the sample location, and their accuracy is ultimately depended on the instruments being used. In this project, the positional accuracy of sample locations, derived from multiple instruments, will be assessed, using an existing spatial dataset. Furthermore, the effect of positional data with varying accuracy on predictive relationships within digital soil mapping will be studied.
