Description The “Land Use/Cover Area frame statistical Survey Soil” (LUCAS Soil) is an extensive and regular topsoil survey that is carried out across the European Union to derive policy relevant statistics on the impact of land management on soil characteristics. For the campaign of LUCAS 2022, we aim to improve the data collection scheme by complementing the LUCAS dataset with national data. In this research you will contribute to our insight on how the sampling design may be improved. You will make a comparison of national and LUCAS soil monitoring schemes and propose improvements based on geometry and aim.
