Description | Sample preparation is key to obtain accurate MIR measurements in the laboratory. Unfortunately, little is known about which protocol to follow and what the effect of sample preparation is on the accuracy and precision of derived soil properties. In this research you will develop a controlled experiment in which you will test different sample preparations; you will test different standard sizes now in use worldwide, test the effect of different procedures and MIR settings to provide input for international protocols possibly. Questions you may address are example, what is the effect of the time of milling the sample and grain size; are outputs different per soil type? |
