Description The revised EU Renewable Energy Directive has set in motion a process in which palm oil is being phased out as a feedstock for biodiesel use in the EU. Palm oil has been classified by the EC as a high risk crop for Indirect Land Use Change (ILUC). Scholars expect that this also may affect the import and use of palm oil as an ingredient for food production. As palm oil has been a major input for biodiesel and food production in the EU, this research wants to investigate how EU food and agro-energy business adapt to the revised EU Renewable Energy Directive and whether/how these business engage with EU policy making processes on renewable energy and sustainable food.
