| Description | Description Via Sewage Treatment Plants a lot of pharmaceuticals meant for human consumption only reach our environments. Although direct mortality of aquatic organisms was never observed at environmental realistic concentrations there is a building body of evidence that these concentrations might result in behavioural effects or impact endpoints (e.g. microbial processes) previously not investigated. Using tailored lab-experiments it will be investigated at which levels behavioural effects occur in for instance freshwater invertebrate species and/or microbial processes (e.g., decomposition). The experiments will be carried out in the laboratory at Wageningen Environmental Research in Wageningen, The Netherlands. |
