Description The first step of any human rights agency that wishes to report on possible violations of human rights and to hold authorities accountable is to conduct systematic research and to collect reliable data. Human Rights Watch is an international human rights agency with researchers in 80 countries all over the world. HRW has established a general research methodology that is geared towards sound data collection and lobby&advocacy. The purpose of the internship is to experience the challenges and limitations of a HRW researcher in collecting data over politically controversial issues and processes; to learn from and assist this researcher; and to understand the complexity of the political regime or political economy of a country.
