Description Description
Royal HaskoningDHV is an international consultancy and engineering firm and well known because of for example the special, eye catching projects and buildings like the palm tree shaped islands of Dubai, the coastal defence project of Jakarta and our unique waste water treatment concept called Nereda. We also offer for more than 25 years services in the area of chemical safety, HSE management and external safety. Substance properties, production and use determine hazards and risks of substances and are at the heart of the activities in our expertise group Chemical Safety.

Customers and our services
We hold an international client base, with customers from all over the globe, but our focus is Europe. Our services relate to product, consumer and industrial safety as well as policies for chemicals. We are leading in services related to REACH and CLP, but also in services on other parts of substance management (e.g. Safety Data Sheets and industrial hygiene). We serve both authorities and industrial companies with integrity and thorough advice on how safe and responsible use can be achieved as well how to deal with risks for man and environment of dangerous chemicals and products. We strive for significant improvements for our environment and contribute to the development of sustainable solutions for chemicals and products. Among our customers are chemical industries, multinationals, industry branches and several regulators and authorities with their home base in the Netherlands or abroad.

Activities
We translate the results of the work towards the implications for the business of our clients, and this consequently allows directly putting the knowledge into practise. During the industrial training you will be involved in projects related to product and consumer safety. For example, you will work on the generation of dossiers for registrations under REACH and to issues related to the consequences and communication of hazards and risks of substances for producers, users, value chain and environment. You will understand how Safety Data Sheets are generated and how the CLP regulation prescribes how classification and labelling is to be done. You will work together with and for colleagues in chemistry, (eco)toxicology and industrial hygiene, but also with colleagues who focus on HSE management and external safety

Your profile
*You are in your final stages of your Master studies, for example in (eco)toxicology, environmental sciences or environmental chemistry or (micro)biology and keen to apply your knowledge in practise.
*You have an interest in the area of human and/or environmental risk assessment (including both effect assessment as well as exposure considerations).
*You would like to know and learn more about Regulatory Affairs and legislation related to chemicals (a.o. REACH, CLP).
*You are flexible towards working conditions and topics and able to work independent, still highly motivated to work in multidisciplinary project teams.
*You are a good communicator, both in word and in writing and you dare to speak up.
*Reporting also in English is not an issue for you.

Offer
You will learn in practise how to apply your knowledge with regard to hazards and risks of substances towards industries and regulators/authorities. In the working environment you will find flexible and dynamic colleagues in varying stages of their professional careers with associated experience. You will receive an appropriate allowance and will primarily work in our office in Nijmegen.
