Description | Earlier research indicated that the growth of water soldier can be unstable. The growth of this floating plant is relatively fast under favourable conditions, however, this growth may suddenly stop and large parts decay. The focus in this study will be on growth potential of Stratiotes under different levels of nutrients. Large fields of Stratiotes on water surfaces is important for the Green Hawker (Aeshna viridis) since they need the plant for reproduction. Data on growth in the field are also available and can be analyzed. |
