Description | Different floating plants can be present on the surface of a water body, like species of Lemna, Wolffia, Spirodella, Ricciocarpus and Azolla. They all have to compete for the same resources (nutrients & lights) and they may differ in growth characteristics. When and under which conditions a species dominates remains largely unclear. To unravel this models and experiments will be used. |
